Licence
Every Wallmill wallpaper is free for personal use, and that stays free. Showing one to customers or viewers needs a business licence. Here is exactly where the line sits.
Free, for personal use
- Download any wallpaper and use it on your own phones, tablets and computers, as many as you own, including the computer on your desk at work.
- Use the web wallpaper links in Plash, Lively, Wallpaper Engine or a browser on your own devices.
- Use the wallpaper maker and keep what you make for yourself, with your own name or initials on it, and send it to friends and family, with your own photos in the frame if you like. Only add photos you have the right to use.
- Let your screen show up with a Wallmill wallpaper on it in screenshots, videos and calls, as long as the wallpaper is not the point of the shot.
- Share a link to a wallpaper page with anyone.
Needs a business licence
- Playing a wallpaper on a screen that customers or the public see: in a cafe, shop, gym, salon, office reception, waiting room or at an event.
- Using a wallpaper as the background, overlay or starting soon screen of a stream or a video channel.
- Putting a company name or logo on a wallpaper, from the maker or otherwise, for staff devices or screens.
The business licence covers these, from USD 29 for a stream and USD 49 a year for a venue, and we also make custom branded sets.
Not allowed
- Re-upload the files to other wallpaper sites, apps, stock libraries or marketplaces.
- Sell them, alone or in a bundle, or put them behind a paywall, including as templates or live wallpaper packs.
- Use them in ads, or inside an app, a product or a device you sell, without a written agreement with us.
- Claim them as your own work.
Who made them
Every scene is drawn in code by Sundry Mill. There is no stock footage, AI video, fan art, logo or licensed character in any of them, and no third party art. The animals and characters in the wallpaper maker are drawn in code by us too. The typefaces on this site are Geist and Instrument Serif, both under the SIL Open Font Licence.
Business use or anything else
Screens, streams and branded sets are on the business page, with a short form. Want a wallpaper in an app, an ad or a device you sell? Get in touch and ask.
No warranty
The files are provided as they are. We test them, but phones change with every update; each guide says when it was last checked.
